Knowing the right brush to use for different styles of hair will save you from hair breakage and split-ends. The basic rule is to use a wide-toothed brush when combing wet hair and using it to de-tangle hair from end to root. For women with short hair, styling can be best achieved with a Paddington brush with soft protective bristles. So why not try making your own hair spray instead? All you need is to chop one lemon (or orange for dry hair) and place it in a pot with 2 cups of water. Boil until the lemon mixture has been reduced into half its original amount. Let it cool for awhile and then strain out the lemon pieces. Transfer mixture into a clean spray bottle and store in the refrigerator. The hair spray can last up to 1 week in the fridge while adding one ounce of rubbing alcohol as a preservative can make it last up to two weeks unrefrigerated.
