Homemade Hair Spray

Some women cannot live without hair spray. However, as with all hair products, too much use of hair spray can have long-term damaging effects on our hair. So why not try making your own hair spray instead? All you need is to chop one lemon (or orange for dry hair) and place it in a pot with 2 cups of water. Boil until the lemon mixture has been reduced into half its original amount. Let it cool for awhile and then strain out the lemon pieces. Transfer mixture into a clean spray bottle and store in the refrigerator. The hair spray can last up to 1 week in the fridge while adding one ounce of rubbing alcohol as a preservative can make it last up to two weeks unrefrigerated.
